New media and luxury marketing

by Alex Beattie on November 22, 2009

New media and luxury marketing are not mutually exclusive. It is my goal to help all luxury marketers embrace this ‘long tail’ of online marketing, I’ve included a few agents and brokers I have featured here on the duPont Luxury Marketing Guide. This inclusion is one part experiment {in fact, all of new marketing is} and one part idea.

Luxury social media bandwagon

Luxury social media bandwagon

If you refer to the mission statement of this blog (website – whatever you want to call it) you’ll see why I’m doing this. This blog, however, is a tremendous marketing ‘tool’ – not for me alone, but for the agent or broker. I’m writing about you—EVERYDAY. So, if I do my job—putting relevant content on the web which is findable and relevant to you and your industry—you win. In fact, you should link back to this content.

For clarity’s sake: you don’t have to, and you don’t need to. It would benefit you if you did. This is how new media works. This is how ‘search‘ works.

The idea is simple. This blog is for luxury agents. It is obvious that no ‘one person’ has the New Media answer. What is clear, as I explained in yesterday’s post, is that luxury professionals are trying to figure this out—some are even timid in the face of it. Again: If you don’t do it, somebody else will.

Luxury marketing and social media are not mutually exclusive.
